Charles Edward Jackson, the son of the late Charles Austin and Gloria Jackson, was born on April 13, 1955 in East Orange, NJ. As a child, he moved to Westfield, NJ and graduated from Westfield High School.
Charles worked for over 20 years at ASPEQ Heating Group and before retiring 2 years ago. He also worked many years at Hartz Mountain and Mead Wilbert Crews in Wayne, NJ. He was a member of Life Changing Word Church International, in Haledon, NJ. Charles loved music, especially R&B and attended the Whispers and Stephanie Mills Concert every year. Charles loved to sing and did so all the time.
Charles was generous and was always willing to help family and friends.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, along with his sisters Beverly Threadgill and Marilyn Jackson Morris his brothers, Frank Ruben Smith and Kenneth Jackson and his Father-in-Law Isaiah Benjamin Sr.
On September 12, 2025, Charles went home to be with the lord.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Karheem Randle, Nakiya Benjamin, Jamal Jackson, and Da’Mier Benjamin. His brothers Robert Smith Sr. and Rudolph Smith. His former wife Iris Benjamin Jackson, Mother-in-law Patsy Benjamin, and Goddaughter Chyann Benjamin. Charles was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
