Dell had an extensive work history which included working at Long Life Home Care Services, Allied Aviation at JFK airport and Superintendent for Housing Preservation and Development. In 1994, Dell moved to Newark New Jersey with her son for a change and fresh start. Initially, the move to a new state was very challenging. In her spare time, Dell enjoyed fishing, bowling, horseback riding, shooting pool, visiting casinos, cooking and entertaining her friends. Her latest passion was creating t-shirts/sweatshirts with sarcastic yet amusing cliches’ that were sure to grab your attention.
Dell was a loving person. She liked to help people whenever she can, even if it meant putting her personal business aside. She loved being with her grandchildren, often sharing stories of how her children were at their ages and family gatherings. Many of her coworkers developed strong bonds with her because she was dependable, witty and honest.
Dell leaves to cherish her memory her children: Leslie Kentish, Charles Kentish, Lucy Santiago and Latrice Boyd, her grandchildren Kyasia Smith and Nyleve Smith, Patricia, Phylicia, Mariah and Liannah, one sister Elaine Kentish, one aunt Enid Higgins, and a host of cousins.
