Florence Marie Ceasar Douglas, 68 years old, departed this life on December 13, 2025, surrounded by her children. Florence was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, who was born on September 26, 1957, in Newark, NJ. Florence was the seventh child of eight children born to Samuel Ceasar and Florence Marie Crews Ceasar.
Florence graduated from Barringer High School in June 1975. She was awarded a Nurse’s Aide/Health Office Assistant diploma on May 21, 1986, after graduating from Essex County College of Business. Throughout her life, Florence aka “LuLu” was known for her kind spirit and generous heart. Her main goal in life was always her family, and she took immense pride in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also a woman of many passions. She loved her scratch-offs, playing cards, and visiting the casinos. Florence worked for over 20 years as a long-term care facility nurse aid at Clara Mass Hospital in Belleville, NJ where she was respected by all who knew her. Florence was married to her beloved husband, Keith Douglas, for 29 years until he passed away on May 21, 2023. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Florence Marie Ceasar Douglas is survived by Brenda Brown (sister), Saquana Hawkins-Lockhart (daughter) & Donnell Lockhart (son-in-law), Rhonda Hawkins (daughter), Antoine Hawkins (son), Jawed Douglas (son), Keshan Ja’Ques Dobbins Jr. (grandson), Salam Strange (grandson), Sage Lockhart (granddaughter), Samad Hughes (grandson), Miah Pringle (granddaughter), Kashmir Alvarez (great grandson), Kylie Alvarez (great granddaughter), Lawanna Burks (a niece who was more like a daughter), and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly.
Florence is preceded in death by Keith Douglas (husband), Samuel Ceasar (father), Florence Marie Crews Ceasar (mother), Robert “Tootsie” Ceasar (brother), Sheila Tolor (sister), James Ceasar (brother), Gerald “Rodd” Ceasar (brother), Ralph Ceasar (brother) and Julie Ceasar (sister-in-law), Peter Ceasar (brother) and Eleanor Ceasar (sister-in-law).
