William Anthony Moore, beloved and affectionately known as "Tony" was born on November 2, 1971, to Henry Moore, Sr. and Barbara Jean Cummings Moore. A man of deep conviction, intellectual pursuit, and unwavering service, Tony lived a life that left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tony received his foundational education at East Orange Campus High School before pursuing higher learning at Monmouth University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Work. He further distinguished himself academically at Rutgers University, where he obtained his Master of Social Work degree. During his collegiate years, Tony demonstrated exceptional leadership and civic engagement, serving as President of the Student Government Association in 1994, President of the African Student Union, EOF Counselor, New Student Orientation Leader, and was an active member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
On September 29, 2012, Tony entered into holy matrimony with Joanne Reed Moore, a cherished union that was graced with the birth of their beloved daughter, Kristina Moore.
Tony's relationship with faith was a cornerstone of his life. At an early age, he united with Christ Temple in Newark, New Jersey, under the pastoral leadership of the late Dr. Willie Tolbert, Sr. In a deeply moving expression of spiritual renewal, on April 19, 2025, Tony rededicated his life to the Lord and was baptized anew — a testament to his earnest commitment to walk more closely in his faith. Throughout his years of service, he faithfully contributed to numerous ministries, including his roles as Team Leader and Director of the Praise & Worship Team, as well as his active participation in the Male Chorus, Men's Ministry, YPCL, and the Young Adult Choir, among others.
Professionally, Tony was a licensed social worker whose career spanned more than two decades of dedicated service to individuals and families in need. Guided by a profound sense of purpose, he founded Moore's Consulting and Counseling Services, LLC, through which he provided compassionate care and support to vulnerable communities. Tony was employed with Mr. Quadir Porter of Brothers Building A Better Nation until his demise.
Above all, Tony loved his family wholeheartedly and would do anything for them. He is survived by those who will forever hold his memory close: his devoted wife, Joanne Moore; his cherished daughter, Kristina Moore; his nephew, Enoasbasi X. Sunday, whom he lovingly embraced as a son; his parents, Henry Moore, Sr. and Barbara Jean Cummings Moore; his siblings, Henry Moore Jr., Harold Moore (Donnetta), Tonyah Moore, Toyah Konadu (Louis), Shakira Moore, and Andrea Moore; his nieces and nephews; his Spiritual Mother and Godmother, Evangelist Donna Morgan; his godchildren, Afia, Jordan, Regina and Makayla; his fraternity brothers; and a cherished host of relatives, friends, and his beloved church family.
Tony Moore did not merely occupy space in this world — he enriched it. His legacy is one of service, faith, love, and an enduring belief in the dignity of every human life.
