William Osae Quansah, affectionately known as Willie, was a beloved father, brother, cousin, and dear friend to many who loved him. He peacefully passed away to be with the Lord on June 27, 2026.
Willie was born on March 6, 1965, in Ghana. He grew up in Tema and was raised in a loving Christian home alongside his siblings. He was baptized in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, where his faith journey began.
William attended Tema Parents Association School for his primary education and later enrolled at St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast in 1979. In 1983, through a government scholarship programme during the Rawlings PNDC era, he was given the unique opportunity to travel to Cuba as part of a student exchange programme. Upon his return to Ghana, he enrolled at Accra Polytechnic, where he studied Engineering. After graduating, he began his professional career at the Tema Oil Refinery, where he served with distinction for 14 years, earning the respect of colleagues through his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.
Driven by a desire to explore new opportunities and build a brighter future, William migrated to the United States in 2000. There, he worked in the social care sector before successfully establishing his own business, specialising in the sale of African products. His entrepreneurial spirit, determination, and commitment to hard work enabled him to build a successful livelihood while remaining deeply connected to his cultural roots.
In 1995, William married his first wife, Millicent, and together they welcomed their son, Rodney. In 2002, he married Elsie, and together they lovingly raised five children: Kaneisha, Paris, Karen, Travis, and T.J. Their home was always open to friends, neighbours, and anyone in need of a warm meal, a listening ear, or a place of comfort. Their generosity and hospitality touched countless lives.
William cherished spending time with family and friends and was passionate about building meaningful relationships and community. He had a warm personality, a generous heart, and a gift for making people feel welcome. His love, kindness, and legacy continue to live on in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
William was predeceased by his parents. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three brothers and four sisters; his children, Rodney, Kaneisha, Paris, Karen, Travis, and T.J.; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Words can never fully express the profound loss of such an amazing brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. Though our hearts ache and our eyes are filled with tears, we take comfort in the promises of God. If William were with us today, he would no doubt encourage us with these words:
